We're starting to get dry now, but plenty grass ahead and what looks like another fortnight before even thinking of unwrapping some silage for them (if there's no rain). That's the benefit of being under-stocked - the season has been kind and the cows are in good condition. However, by my reckoning the autumn milk will be expensive - would have been much more efficient to have had a few more cows to eat the surplus in spring. Hopefully next year. How's your farm? If you are who I think, you would have been close enough to see the smoke last week :-(
